#scenesfrommyrun: Vacation Edition

Arch Cape, Oregon is so lovely. I’ve been struggling with a hip injury, but I had to do this. When we were on the coast three years ago, I told myself that the next time we were here, I would run. I was sitting on the sand, ankle in a cast, desperate to finally be healthy and lose the weight.

As I ran on the beach for the first time in my entire life, just shy of 40 years old, I looked at all the breathtaking nature around me and felt overwhelmed. The thought that kept running through my head was one of gratitude: that I was there, that I was able to run, that I had finally reached my goal, that the earth was so astoundingly beautiful.

How lucky we are to have these little moments, don’t you think?
